Resurfacing on A379DCC Highways InformationWe have a road Resurfacing Scheme including Drainage work, due to the road reaching the end of its serviceable life. The works take place from Monday 3rd February finishing on the morning of the 1st of March from 7pm to 6am on a section of the A379 in Brixton. See attached closure point The works will be carried out under a road closure and a signed diversion will be in place. ELBURTON ROAD, A379, HAYE ROAD, HERCULES ROAD, MAIN STREET, DEEP LANE, DEVON EXPRESSWAY, A38 TO AVONWICK, B3372, A3121, A379 & VICE VERSA. We are aware that this is a very long diversion but we have had to cater for heavy goods vehicles. However the diversion route directs traffic along a similar standard of road to that being closed so that all vehicles, including large articulated vehicles, can safely use the diversion route. Lighter traffic with good knowledge of the area will be able to use local roads to take shorter routes around the closure. PLEASE NOTE NO WEEKEND WORKS WILL TAKE PLACE. 24th January 2025 |

St. Mary’s PCC and BPC will be discussing detailed plans for the churchyard for 2025 to be agreed with South Hams which will include scheduled full cuts with the removal of the cut grass for February, June, and September and the edges of the older part of the church yard cut monthly from March to September and the grass removed. Additional plans will be drawn up to increase the number of cuts in the newer part of the churchyard and immediately to the north of the church and to identify with the help of a botanist small areas in the older part of the churchyard where wildflowers can be encouraged to grow which will be only cut 3 times a year but will allow access to graves through a series of paths. The intention is to reach a satisfactory balance between having a churchyard which is accessible for families and improving its biodiversity. 14th August 2024 |
